AVC.com is a great, great blog, and I agree with the commenter who says Fred should videoblog weekly. That would be a great addition to AVC.com. I also agree with the commenter who says not all work has to be in house, in the room. You do need a core team you can meet in person, but then you have to leverage the entire world. The world is your stage. Especially if your ambitions are global, your target market is global.

Hey, I want Fred to fund my venture as much as the next guy, but - no disrespect intended - I do not agree about having to own the technology, or about having to all be in the same room.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that you don't need to have people on the team that know the technology frontwards and backwards, but you do not need to own it or create it from scratch. It is perfectly fine to license it. Frankly it save tons of time and money.

It's like telling Tim Burton that he has to invent a video Camera to make a movie. There is a glut of me-too technology in the market [and VC's funding them] for the sake of technology.

Technology is not the end. Traffic and engagement are the end. At some point you have to populate that technology with, you guessed it... content.

By the way, we're not using proprietary technology and we are based in NYC with people in Boston, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Austin, California, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Serbia, Israel, India, Canada and London. None of them work full time for us and all of them are as committed to this product [when they're working on it] as any team I've ever had... and I've had a few.

Lazaro Fuentes - CEO - www.hipchicas.com - Device-Agnostic, Latin-Themed Multiplayer Game and Brand Seeking Funding.

There you go... I said it.

Wholeheartedly agree with the previous comments. Fred's blog is great and it's good to see him express his views in person. The advice on how to present a pitch is the most common sense piece of advice I have ever heard on the topic. Funny, how easy it is to leave common sense behind though when you're trying too hard to impress.

Nice interview, and I appreciate the transcript. Fred's blog is amazing, its nice to see him chat about these topics in person. He should really think about doing a regular video (weekly?), which would be a nice complement to his blog.
Great insights, thanks for putting this together.
