Vadim Lavrusik is a new media journalist and social media consultant studying digital media at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He’s reported for publications like the Star Tribune, The Minnesota Daily, the Mpls./St. Paul Business Journal and most recently was a feature writer for Mashable.com and contributed to Poynter Online’s E-Media Tidbits. Alexander Hotz was born in Durban, South Africa, but he’s called the United States home since 1995. After graduating from Muhlenberg College with degrees in political science and history, he worked for a year in Costa Rica, teaching English in an indigenous community. His experience in journalism includes work for a documentary production company, a New Jersey weekly and three NPR affiliates. Last summer he filed stories for KFSK, an NPR affiliate in Petersburg, Alaska. Currently he’s studying at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and interning at NPR’s Planet Money.
